Aquaria Expands Water-From-Air Solutions in Texas Homes

Commercial Observer recently covered Aquaria’s big leap: we’re building neighborhood-scale air-to-water infrastructure and have secured $112 million in new funding to accelerate it. That support, from mission-driven and top-tier investors, helps us move faster on residential projects in Texas and beyond, and keep upgrading our Hydropack technology.

Why this matters for everyday families

Municipal pipes are aging. Drought and growth strain local supplies —especially across Texas Hill Country, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Houston’s fast-growing suburbs. Aquaria’s systems make clean drinking water right where you live by condensing humidity in the air and purifying it to top-tier standards. That means:

  • A dependable, on-premise water supply that doesn’t rely on failing pipes
  • Less plastic—no bottled water runs “just in case”
  • A path to lower bills over time by supplementing (or, for some homes, replacing) delivered water

In short: you get more control over your family’s water—right at home.

How it works

We mimic a natural process you already know—morning dew. Our atmospheric water generators (AWGs) move air across a patented system that condenses vapor into liquid, then filter and mineralize it for a fresh, clean taste. The units are modular and scalable:

  • Indoor units (from ~$3,750) make up to ~10 gallons/day—perfect for drinking, cooking, coffee, and ice.
  • Outdoor units (from ~$10,000) tap free-flowing air and can produce hundreds of gallons/day, supporting whole-home uses with a storage tank and simple plumbing tie-in.

Every install can integrate with your existing well or city water. Turn on the tap and choose: your current source, or sky-made water.

Proof points and momentum

  • Press recognition: Commercial Observer profiled our residential build-out and the communities we’re serving today.
  • TIME Best Inventions: Aquaria was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024 for bringing resilient water to homes.
  • Real projects, real homes: From Hawaii—where our devices are unlocking housing in areas without municipal hookups—to Texas subdivisions and multifamily complexes, homeowners and developers are using Aquaria to add reliable, on-site water capacity.

What this means for Texas homeowners

  • Drought resilience: Generate water during heat waves and watering restrictions.
  • New-build flexibility: Unlock lots that would otherwise require expensive wells or long utility runs.
  • Everyday convenience: Great-tasting, clean water for drinking and cooking—without the plastic.
  • Scales with you: Start with an indoor system, add storage and an outdoor unit later, or design a whole-home solution from day one.
