Texas is no stranger to water challenges.
With a booming population and recurring droughts, reliable water is top of mind for families across the state. That’s why we’re proud that KXAN highlighted our work to bring our water-from-air systems, like the Hydropack and Hydropixel, to Texas homes and communities.
Making water from thin air
“There are 39 million billion gallons of water in the atmosphere around us,” said Brian Sheng, Aquaria’s co-founder. “Our machines pull in air, lower it to its dew point, and capture that water.”
It’s the same natural process you see when dew forms on your lawn each morning—only scaled to provide clean, drinkable water for your home. Every drop is purified through six layers of filtration, so what comes out of the tap exceeds WHO and EPA standards.
- Hydropixel: Compact indoor model, producing up to 10 gallons/day.
- Hydropack X: Larger outdoor model, producing up to 264 gallons/day.
Both units connect to simple electrical power and can supplement—or, in some cases, replace, your existing water source.
Why Texas needs this now
Texas lawmakers are actively working on solutions. Governor Abbott has made water security a top priority, and legislative leaders are pushing to grow the Texas Water Fund by billions of dollars to help communities secure long-term supplies.
But state projects take years to build. Aquaria gives families a solution today —an independent source of water that works alongside city utilities or wells, right at home.
As Eric Sheng, Aquaria’s COO, put it: “In the future, we envision supplying water for entire cities and communities.”
Where Aquaria is in Texas today
We already have seven systems installed across the state, including two in the Austin area, one in Manor. And with Texas humidity (especially in Central and East Texas), our technology is positioned to deliver consistent, reliable water when families need it most.
Looking ahead
Aquaria’s next step: scaling from individual homes to industrial-sized systems that can serve entire neighborhoods, housing developments, and even city grids. From residential resilience to community-scale independence, we’re building the future of water access—straight from the sky. Learn more on how Aquaria's water-from-air system works.
