When we talk about the future of water, it often feels like the conversation is dominated by scarcity and crisis. But on this week’s episode of The Green Insider Podcast, our CEO, Brian Sheng, sat down with host Mike Nemer to discuss a different perspective: what if clean water could come directly from the air around us?

From Air to Tap: Water for Everyday Homes

Aquaria’s atmospheric water generation technology extracts moisture from the air, purifies it through multiple filters, and delivers fresh, drinkable water straight into a home’s plumbing system. Homeowners can use it alongside city water or well water—or choose air-derived water as their primary source.

  • Indoor unit: About the size of a tall cabinet, priced at ~$3,750, producing up to 10 gallons/day.
  • Outdoor unit: Larger unit starting at ~$10,000, producing hundreds of gallons/day—ideal for whole-home use.
  • Maintenance: Simple filter cartridge swaps every 4–6 months.

Currently, we are serving thousands of homes across Texas, California, Florida, and Hawaii, proving that air-derived water isn’t just possible—it’s practical.

Solar Energy + Water Security

One of the most exciting aspects of Aquaria’s work is the ability to pair air-to-water technology with solar power, creating a sustainable and resilient water supply even off-grid. With the right setup, a single system can generate tens of thousands of liters per day, making it a fit for both individual homes and entire communities.

Looking Beyond the U.S.

While our technology is already helping families across the country, Brian also discussed its potential impact abroad. Many developing nations face severe water challenges, and with relative humidity levels of 30% or more, Aquaria’s systems could help close the gap between demand and safe access to clean drinking water.

As Brian put it, “Water is one of our most basic needs. By producing it directly from the air, families can take control of their supply, reduce waste, and prepare for the future.”
